<strong><font class="Title">A Short Update;</font></strong><br /><br />

<font class="Article">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; So the Vietnam Documentary has been put on hold as we prepare to launch the Kickstarter for  'A Bolt, A Bird'. We've made 

quite a bit of progress; last weekend I sketched out 188 thumbs and plan to start work on the official storyboards soon. I've sketched out a potential <a 

href="http://soundcloud.com/infiniteidea/a-bolt-a-bird-scoresketch-tm"> score</a>, even. We're still waiting to hear about a quote from the New Yorker Hotel as to 

how much the room plus legal fees will cost. There is good news; <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/">CafePress </a> has officially sponsored the campaign, providing 

us with merchandise to hand out to our donors!<br />

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm going to resume work on the Vietnam Documentary pretty soon. We're in a holding pattern on shooting the Kickstarter video, waiting for a few outside sources to 

get back to us with  important information. <br />

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;So yes! It's been quite busy! Don't expect another update any time soon! <br /></font>

<strong><font class="Title">Post-spring break update;</font></strong><br /><br />
                <font class="Article">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Here I am again, taking to out loud to myself on the internet where everyone can hear me but no one will listen. I was planning to update sooner but for some reason my server was out of commission for a few days. Spring break was an interesting tale of wonderful sights and terrible social decisions. I've got pictures of <a href="www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3320020715229.2153108.1109627647&amp;type=1">Paris</a> and <a href="www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3288873136559.2152490.1109627647&amp;type=1">Sweden</a> open to the public, and at the end of the semester I'll put my favorites on Deviant Art, just like with <a href="futureruler.deviantart.com/gallery/35380197">Vietnam</a>. I'm a bit tired (and slightly low-funded), so it's going to take me a couple days to get back up to speed. Aside from the other things I've currently got undertow, I've picked up a couple side missions. I don't plan to reveal all just yet mainly to stem the tide of information, but, amid the Tesla film and the Vietnam Documentary I've been developing my own language, working on my senior project, and today I plan to start php lessons so Site Build v2.2 can contain extra levels of fun. </font><font class="Article">OH, and considering the relative 'acclaim' of <a href="www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J_VVgKJGjI">&gt;&gt;this&lt;&lt;</a> (which is great considering that I literally spent more time rendering this video than on any other aspect of its production) I'm going to do an ACTUAL Taylor Swift cover in a... similar style. Actually put a little effort into it this time.</font><br />
              &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class="Article">IT IS TOO MUCH IT IS TOO MUCH</span><br />
              &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<font class="Article">Not much has happened on the 'warfront,' although it does appear I have an ally. We were slated to comment on a fellow student's blog post (I was terrified, I knew I'd be criticizing someone for something they probably didn't actually think to be true.) Well, someone actually commented on my original post, offering me their support! I hope they're taking the class for no grade as well, heh heh.</font><br />
              &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<font class="Article">Well, what am I doing? I should be contributing to society, not stroking my own ego. FINGERS AWAAAYYYY</font><br />

<font class="Title">Pre-spring break update;</font></strong><br /><br />
              <font class="Article">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I'mma 'bout ta peace out for spring break (Sweden and Paris whatu(p x 4)), which will explain the lack of content all up in here over the next couple of weeks or so. I plan to be at least marginally productive while away - I want to continue work on the Tesla script and gather all the footage I can. But that's about it. -END TRANSMISSION-<br />

<strong><font class="Title">The Vietnam Documentary, 'A Bolt, A Bird,' and a War;</font></strong><br /><br />
              <font class="Article">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Version 2.1 is roaring and ready to go! Not really much more than a few vital rearrangements. Things are start going to get interesting come the next version and henceforth. Note; I'm aware the two-column text wrap doesn't work in IE... I'll get around to it.<br />
                
                &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Sadly the 'Untitled Vietnam Documentary' is going... slowly. I still don't even have a name for it yet. I've been working at it a little bit each day, picking out what I like to call 'highlights' (I'm ignorant to what actual documentary-makers call them, but essentially I'm just dragging well-shot and informational clips from the raw footage into the time-line). Another thing that consumes a lot of time - stabilization analysis. Yes, iMovie supports stabilization, for some reason. Unfortunately it's not incredibly sophisticated (nothing like my copy of AE5.5 back home) but it usually does more harm than good. (Usually). Thankfully I can at least work on the site while all that processin' is goin' down. No promises, but hopefully before I leave for spring break I'll have fashioned together some sort of preview.<br />
                
               &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ENOUGH STALLING. What is this mysterious 'A Bolt, A Bird' I speak of? Well my friends, this summer I am slated to shoot a short film about the latter days of the incredible inventor Nikola Tesla. During the last few years of his life, the Serbian genius was certainly put through the ringer. Most interestingly, he claims to have fallen in love with a pidgeon, who paid him visits religiously until the day that pidgeon died. That will be the focus of the film, sans a major detail or two - I'm going to leave it at that for now. As of this moment I've got a full, semi-immature draft of the script and am working on aquireing locations with my lovely producer. It is very likely that the film could be shot in the very room where Tesla died. I KNOW, I can't believe it either. My life has devolved into a perpetual panic attack/nerdgasm.<br />
                
               &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Oh yeah, I said something about a 'war'? Okay, okay. Agree with me or not, but there's this online class all NYU Florence students are required to take called 'Topics in Italian Culture' which... I feel based on the way it's structured just encourages subconscious discrimination. For my first blog post I was required to see one Italian film and then from that pull themes or motifs common in Italian art, and most importantly, focus on how Italian art is different from art in my home country. That's not a question I can answer having seen one film. So I wrote a 500-word blog post about how I couldn't answer that question and why, and tangentially my theories on subconscious discrimination (unfortunately I just thought of this term, I probsies shoulda used it). I received a failing grade for lack of "throughfulness (sic), creativity, or writing skills." Yeah. They gave me a chance to rewrite the entry. So in response I wrote another, slightly less-antagonistic, 500-word version, stating that "I will not be strong-armed by poor grades..." and that "...debate is the only way to truly converge upon the appropriate solution, not a docile acceptance of the status quo." They're going to have to fight me. The first and second essays can be found <a href="archive/topicsinitalianwar.txt">here</a>. I'm usually not this confrontational, I promise. Feel free to debate with meif you're bored enough.<br />

<p><strong class="Title">AN UNTITLED VIETNAM DOCUMENTARY –</strong><br />
       <p><span class="Article">&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Well, I've obviously been working on the site too, but that's besides the point. This winter I went on a two week trip to Vietnam and brought along my little Sony HDcam. I shot a overwhelming ten hours of footage. Just now I finished transcoding all of it into iMovie –<br />
       &#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;SIDENOTE: Why iMovie  you ask? Right now I'm studying in NYU <a href="http://www.nyu.edu/global/global-academic-centers1/florence.html">Florence</a>. I've been able to edit the site via a remote desktop application on my little netbook, but it just isn't feasible to edit by the same means. I've got a bit of a deadline on this project as well, so I don't really have much of a choice.<br />
       &#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;– and I plan to edit over the next couple of... while(s). For now you can satiate yourself with <a href="http://futureruler.deviantart.com/gallery/35380197">this</a>. (Yes, my deviantART name is 'FutureRuler', pretend it isn't). I'm not going to say when or where it will be done. That's something I've learned from previous endeavors. Considering that I've now ingrained 8NFINITEIDEA into every aspect of my life (and most importantly, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/FutureRuler">facebook</a>), I hope that the constant reminder will help me take things more seriously.The steps I've taken should help transform this hobby into a career.<br />
      &#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; Oh, I plan to do a similar documentary-type thing for the places I visit in Europe too. That will obviously come even later then the so-called 'UNTITLED VIETNAM DOCUMENTARY'.<br />
      &#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; Also, I'm certainly planning on working with the site more. It may even 'evolve' into it's final stage organically as I try increasingly complex things.</span><br />
